Spending on Information Tehcnology in Egypt is projected to reach USD 1,9 billion by 2013 (an increase from USD 1,2 billion spent in 2009)! Factors such as growing foreign investment and government spending are expected to bolster this growth.
Global risk technology expenditure is estimated to increase by 10% in 2010, with Egypt among the countries gearing up to undertake major risk management initiatives such as Basel II and Basel III. This is in response to the financial crisis and changing global standards.
IQPC’s Banking Technology Summit Egypt, in partnership with the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), offers a platform to discuss how risk management, e-banking and security are changing the face of banking in Egypt.
Risk management systems are implemented to help improve financial performance by reducing losses, improving capital management and building a risk aware culture throughout the banking and financial services sectors.
E-banking is flourishing in the region with banks spending 25%-30% of their IT budgets on internet and web related banking technologies.
